The Amazing Spider-Man, a fictional superhero created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, first appeared in *Amazing Fantasy* #15 (August 1962).
Peter Parker, a high school student bitten by a radioactive spider, gains incredible powers. He possesses superhuman strength, agility, and the ability to cling to walls. He also has a "spider-sense," which warns him of impending danger.
Initially motivated by personal gain, Peter learns a harsh lesson when his negligence indirectly leads to the death of his Uncle Ben. He adopts the identity of Spider-Man, vowing to use his powers responsibly, with the mantra "With great power comes great responsibility."
As Spider-Man, Peter battles a rogues' gallery of villains, including Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, and Venom, while balancing his superhero life with his personal relationships and struggles as a young adult. He is known as the Webslinger for his ability to shoot webs from devices he invented himself.
